Bumper Summer Edition

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

Where to start! We’ve been a very busy school this term, which is why it has taken so long to get around to this blog!

A big thank you to our dancers who took the time to come and perform at the signature Care home in New Malden. The residents had a wonderful time watching and meeting the Children!

Home friendly Comp

We hosted our first ever home competition on 19th May with 3 other schools in attendance. We had a brilliant day of competitions, getting ready for Blackpool, with plenty of fun dances too! A fab day was had by all schools and we are hoping to do another near Christmas! A special thank you to Denise Barley, who came all the way from Wales to judge!

Race for Life 2019

A big ell done to Dan, Toni-Marie, Sophie-Anne, Holly, Abi & Caitlin, who all did the race for life on The Epsom Downs this year, and a special well done to our dance mum Natasha, who ran the 10k!

Summer Fair 2019

A huge thank you to everyone who delivered leaflets, baked, donated prizes, ran stalls, spent money and supported our first Fundraising Summer fair this year. We are so proud to say we raised £518 which will go straight back into the pupils dancing. We are already organising our first lecture day in October, which will be completely free! The demonstrations were fabulous, and an amazing day was had by all – on the hottest day of the year so far! The biggest Thank you goes to dance mum Lucy, who orchestrated the whole event and we are truly grateful!

Medal Presentation Party

Congratulations to everyone who took medals in May. A record number of honours and distinctions! A particular mention must go to our special award winners:

Abigail Coffey – Juvenile Examiners Choice

Alexia Punga – Junior Examiners Choice

Nicollette – Dance of The Day

Chloe – Most Improved

Tilly - Rising Star

Illya – Latin Performance Award

Laurinta – Ballroom Performance Award

And another huge achievement this time to a teacher! Congratulations to Victoria who has now qualified to be a licentiate member of the ABD in both Ballroom and Latin. It was a tough exam and we ae delighted that she will now have more judging opportunities and is working towards her dream of being an examiner. This also gives us more opportunities as a school a more competition options are now available.

We had a fantastic day out to see our favourites Neil and Katya Jones in Somnium! The show was electric and the train journey was so fun!
