Welcome to our 2nd Blog! In this edition we are going to talk about one of our upcoming events in March.
The Ipswich festival and Battle of The Ballroom.
On Sunday 17th March, The Surrey Dance Addicts will be heading to Ipswich to compete in student / teacher and partner events. In addition to the normal programme, there is also the opportunity to take part in the ‘Battle of The Ballroom’ couple events.
The Battle of the ballroom will be filmed and streamed by DSI, and has a £1500 PRIZE FUND throughout the day. The battles includes a judges and an audience vote. This year alongside our main Battle there is a SCHOOLS BATTLE whereby you can win a top prize of £500 for your Dance School.
To enter the main battle (which is Latin) we can enter as many couples as we like to the mini battles; and the top 2 couples in each mini battle will then take part in the ‘Super Battle’. The dances will be selected at random from Cha Cha, Samba, and Jive – So you must know all 3 dances as a couple to enter.
To enter the Schools Battle (which is Ballroom) we must select two couples to represent our school. The dances will be selected at random in each round from Waltz, Tango, and Quickstep . Therefore you must be confident to compete in all of these dances to take part.
If you would like to be entered in the mini battles, and be considered for the Schools battle. Please let us know by Monday 11th Feb and get practicing!
All entries for the whole day are in advance so please confirm attendance by Wednesday 13th Feb. We are looking forward to competing with you all and best of luck to you all!
